Custom Lasik

Vision-correction laser systems vary in accuracy and performance. Insight LASIK now offers its patients the Allegretto Wavefront procedure, the only system specifically designed for Custom LASIK from its inception, rather than being adjusted or upgraded from a stock pattern.

PRK

InSight Lasik offers the most effective and technologically advanced procedures for photorefractive keratectomy (PRK) laser surgery throughout the Denver, Colorado area. Photorefractive keratectomy (PRK) was the first procedure performed using the excimer laser. The difference between PRK and LASIK is that with LASIK a corneal flap is created and the laser is applied to the inner tissue of the cornea. With PRK, the epithelium (or outer layer of the cornea) is removed and a laser is applied to the surface of the cornea. PRK can be used to correct low to high levels of nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism.

ICL

The Visian ICL is a phakic intraocular lens (IOL) used during refractive surgery for correcting myopia (nearsightedness). Unlike IOLs, which are used during cataract surgery, the Visian ICL does not replace the eye’s natural lens. Instead, the ICL is placed between the iris and the natural lens to allow the ICL lens to work with your natural optical system and allow light to better focus on the retina. Because the phakic IOL does not replace the lens, but supplements it like a prescription contact lens on the surface of the eye, it is sometimes referred to as an implantable contact lens.

Presbyopia

Some LASIK surgeons will produce Monovision in their presbyopic patients by purposely leaving the non-dominant eye slightly nearsighted so that these patients can see up close without glasses (out of one eye). Drs. Jackson and Barber and our surgeons who perform presbyopia surgery at InSight LASIK suggest you try monovision with contact lenses before presbyopia surgery to be sure you can adapt. We offer this option to all of our patients considering monovision. Contact us today to schedule your FREE consultation to see if Monovision is right for you!
