Custom LASIK

Custom LASIK Eye Surgery Denver Colorado

Excimer lasers aren't all the same. InSight Lasik now offers the Allegretto Wave™ Eye-Q laser system.  The AllegrettoEye-Q offers our patients increased speed and accuracy. The Allegretto represents a new generation of refractive technology, and is the only system specifically designed for Custom LASIK from its inception, rather than being adapted or "upgraded" at a later date. Wavelight's Allegretto represents a new generation of refractive technology referred to as "High Performance Vision Correction," that allows patients to achieve exceptional results under all lighting situations, day and night, reducing incidents of "halos" and glare.

Custom LASIK/Custom Cornea®

At InSight LASIK, your custom LASIK eye surgery will be based upon many factors, none so important as the very unique visual characteristics of your eye. Your vision is unique - as personal as your fingerprint and your DNA.

InSight LASIK offers custom LASIK for people throughout Denver, Boulder and all of Northern Colorado. CustomCornea® is the first laser vision correction procedure to go beyond reshaping your cornea based on your prescription for eyeglasses or contacts. The procedure is completely customized to your eyes and your eyes alone. InSight's CustomCornea® can help with other vision problems that could not be detected previously, known as higher order aberrations. Experts believe these aberrations can be responsible for vision problems like glare and halos in low-light conditions and at night, for example, if you were having trouble seeing as you drove through the Eisenhower Tunnel from Denver to Vail.

How CustomCornea® Works

There are three steps to every CustomCornea® LASIK eye surgery procedure: Capture, Match and Treat.

Capture

In this first step, the LADARWaveT wavefront device is used to capture your eyes' unique combination of higher and lower aberrations. The device creates a wavefront map of each eye by shining an eye-safe light into the eye and measuring the reflected light waves as they pass through your visual system and exit the eye.

Match

In this second stage, a wavefront map for each eye is entered into to the custom LASIK eye surgery laser system, and converted into a guide for the laser. When both patient and doctor are ready for surgery to begin, the map is computer-matched with the eye's exact position so the treatment is extremely precise. Since each eye has its own unique wavefront map, treatment with CustomCornea® is truly customized.

Treat

In this third step, the cornea is precisely reshaped using the LADARVision® excimer laser, guided by the data from the wavefront map. The treatment is designed to correct your unique profile of both lower and higher order aberrations at the same time.

Up until recently, with glasses, contacts and conventional LASIK surgery, correction was quite similar for each type of what is known as lower order aberrations - myopia (nearsightedness), hyperopia (farsightedness) and astigmatism. With CustomCornea®, InSight LASIK is able to tailor the procedure to your individual needs.
